A small extension for a young couple in West Croydon. Tying into the existing and ‘remixing’ the colours of the original residence, this projects focusses on the essentials - lightweight construction, ample storage, passive design and warm, comfortable spaces that bring the outside in.

Our brief was to update the existing ≈ 100 year old house and add a new living space suitable for modern life. This project distills this brief down, altering the existing to incorporate new wet areas and ensuite, and adding a 50 sqm kitchen - living - dining space to the rear of the house. Designed to be in sync with and connected to its context, lightweight, affordable and replicable.
